I’ve had this open in my browser for days because I don’t want to forget it exists, but really, isn’t that why I have a blog? Full text RSS feeds. (blog)
The job market for new law grads is dismal. Here’s an article suggesting we pay students to drop out and here’s another one explaining that your great cover letter went unread and nobody cared about your resume. (blog)

Tonight my girls learned that some drinks have olives in them.
I took three naps today and yet somehow I am still #exhausted.

I just reviewed @Optimistontour's new book on my blog: http://t.co/1GGQl5zG
I just finished An Optimist’s Tour Of The Future, a new book by Mark Stevenson. It’s quite good and I highly recommend you read it and pick up copies for all your friends right now while the book is at its most valuable. (blog)

My congresswoman's office is on our side about (c) issues but#sopa wasn't on their radar until I called. Please take a moment to call!
Just called Rep. Yvette Clark about #SOPA and had a 15-minute conversation with an aid about the perils of modern trends in copyright law. He was relatively well informed about the issues but not about SOPA specifically. Even our allies in Congress haven't clued in yet, which means calling your rep might make a real difference. Please take the time.

I'm thinking of running my own d* pod just for me, my family and maybe some friends. Is this a good idea or a really really bad idea? How easy is it to move an account to a new pod?

RSS feeds that only give you teasers are useless. Turn those crippled feeds into proper streams of information: http://fivefilters.org/content-only/

Excellent piece on the social graph: http://blog.pinboard.in/2011/11/the_social_graph_is_neither/ It has insight:
This obsession with modeling has led us into a social version of the Uncanny Valley, that weird phenomenon from computer graphics where the more faithfully you try to represent something human, the creepier it becomes. And this well-put bit:
Social networks exist to sell you crap. The icky feeling you get when your friend starts to talk to you about Amway, or when you spot someone passing out business cards at a birthday party, is the entire driving force behind a site like Facebook. And this hateful slur:
Asking computer nerds to design social software is a little bit like hiring a Mormon bartender. It's worth the read.
